I fell head over hills with this look that Margaret Zhang rocked, way before culottes where a thing. Of course I had to bid my time waiting for the perfect pieces to come available on the plus-size market. Now that culottes are a thing, I searched long and hard for the perfect pair of cream culottes. They are such a light and breezy blend of perfection. I paired it with this green shirt from Asos to give me the look of my dreams. There is no better f eeling than when a look comes together.

I know that this look is baggy, unfitted and slightly shapeless. I am also aware that culottes might be intimidating for some and that they are a trend that most people will avoid, but I love taking fashion risk. Fat girls can take fashion risk! We don’t have to play it safe and go with looks that people deem flattering! We can wear whatever we like, and we shouldn’t be afraid of what other people are saying. If I never hear the term “does this make me look fat again” it won’t be too soon.  

That b eing sai d, I don’t think there is anything wrong with interpreting trends to work for your style aesthetic.  The key is finding a style interpretation that makes you both confident and comfortable. Adding these snakeskin sandals and gold bib necklace made this look totally me.

Ruling the World

I just had a friend of mine call me and tell me she was diagnosed with cancer.  Thank God it's curable and she's doing well, but one of the side effects of chemo is losing your hair and you can imagine how upsetting this is to any woman.  I've had some hormonal issues of my own and my hair has thinned in certain areas and to say the least, I understand. Even on a smaller scale, it's devastating.  We are women put a lot can place a lot of value on our hair, even myself.  I always told myself if something happened to my hair beyond repair, I'd have some fly wigs and I would wear my scarves.  C hile, gi ve me a scarf, sunglasses, and a bright lip and I think I can rule the world.   To my friend, I love you dearly and I hope this box of scarves I'm sending will help you rule the world too.  This head scarf is for you! 

Style Notes:  I feel like I'm just finding out about City Chic's Outlet section where everything is $10.  They recently had a sale and I racked up. My pants came from there. They are XL, equivalent to a size 24, and stretchy.  If I were you, I'd keep a close eye on their clearance section if I was looking for a bargain.

Keine Ahnung, wieso mir dieser Titel in den Sinn gekommen ist. Ich kann aber (noch jetzt) k eine pas sende Beschreibung für diesen Stil, den ich schon ewig mochte, finde. So mag ich mich für längere Wanderungen oder Spaziergänge kleiden aber ohne diese Outdoor-Teile. Wenn ich nur einen Stil wählen könnte, dem ich konsequent sein müsste, wäre es wohl dieser. Jacken oder Hemden, mit Taschen und hochgeckrempelten Ärmeln, bequeme Hosen oder Shorts, Taschen im leichtem Hippie Stil, ein weit geschnittenes Shirt und bequeme Schuhe - das sind Elemente, die diesen Stil gut beschreiben. Letzten bin ich viel unterwegs zu Fuß also kann man mich in ähnlicher Kleidung täglich treffen :)

Nie mam pojęcia dlaczego użyłam takiego tytułu. Ale styl wędrowniczy, czy taki trochę włóczykijowaty kojarzy mi się z tym, co mam na sobie. Póki, co nie przychodzi mi do głowy inne, może lepsze określenie. Gdybym miała się zdecydować na tylko jeden sty l, byłb y to najprawdopodobniej ten - czasami wydaje mi się, że najlepiej mnie określa (i jeśli muzykę, którą lubimy można wyrazić ubraniem bez koszulek z zespołami to te ubranie też najlepiej by się wpasowało). Kurtki, czy koszule inspirowane trochę męskim stylem, z dużymi kieszeniami, podwijanymi rękawami, szersze koszulki, wygodne spodnie lub szorty, luzacka torebka i wygodne buty. To elementy wspólne moich zestawów tego typu - bez jakichkolwiek trekingowych elementów :) Ostatnio dużo chodzę, więc niemal codziennie można mnie spotkać w tego typu ubraniach :)

I have no idea why I've chosen this title, but somehow it fits yo the clothes I am wearing. By now I don't have a better description for the style I am wearing: shirts or jackets with big pockets with rolled up sleeves, a wide shirt, comfy pants or shorts, a light hippie bag an comfy sh oes (but without this trekking elements). If I had to chose only one style it would be this one, I think it fits to my personality the most. The last couple of days I had a lot to do and to walk so you could (and still can) meet me in this type of clothes everyday :)

That 70's Dress

This might be the happiest dress I've ever worn.

I twirled around Harlem yesterday in what I'm calling the happiest dress I've ever worn. When in LA last weekend, my dear friend and talented designer Melissa Masse blessed me when this magical creation totally fits int o the aesthetic of my more bohemian summer vibrationzzz.

I'm calling this my happy dress because from first putting it on in Melissa's boutique (306 N. Flores - go see her!) to getting dressed yesterday and walking around it made me happy. Then I noticed, this dress was making other people happy too! Three different people stopped me to say I was beautiful and that my dress made them happy, how sweet is that?
