Statement Maxi Dress

HTML email (dzzfashion.blogspot.com)
Just another sunny day in L.A.

Dress c/o ASOS Curve, Sandals via Nordstrom

If you follow me on instagram, you know that I spent most of this week in Los Angeles for a few events and a round of meetings. Funny thing, each time I visit...I want to leave less and less. I brought this dress because there's always an unexpected dinner or event and I wanted something that I could dress up or down. A top knot and casual sandals give this dress a totally different vibe. Unfortunately there only seems to be a size 20 in my dress left but here are a few statement maxi's that are sure to wow - here, here and here. You can also try this or this.

Backpacking around Kuala Lumpur

HTML email (dzzfashion.blogspot.com)
I've been sleeping on couches for the past week

So work has been hectic. I'm stressed, exhausted wishing to get away and hide myself somewhere in the city. It's a wonder why the worst things could happened at the time my career takes flight. Yes I am back to work, not that I haven't been working but this work, is what I have been waiting for.

I wish I didn't agree to move in together with a friend. I wish I didn't need to leave my lovely room of where I hid away for several months after losing my home, or supposedly the life I thought I had. Which in a way, I am not one bit regretful of because I am free, free, FREE now as a person. My lil sa nctuary is gone, but I have a heaven to build soon.

I've been backpacking with my Herschel Lil' America in grey. The same one Anastasia Steel in 50 Shades of Grey was carrying. In it, the usual - my macbook air, my android phone charger. At one point it was filled with clothes, basic necessities as I slept on couches of those who let me stay the night. For 5 days I was backpacking in Kuala Lumpur, working at cafes and sleeping on friends' couches for the night.

Why was I crashing on couches? Friendship is just like a relationship. When things go bad, one has to give space to another. Clear their minds, space for return. I learn to be the bigger person, even if it hurts and that sometimes, it is necessary to just give space during heated times and take it positively. In this case, my room mate and I will no longer be room mates. A pity but it will be for the best.

In the midst of all these noise, I find myself still calm, still collected, still optimi stic abo ut life and still learning. Take things slow, one day at a time Tammy.

P.S: Many thanks to those who welcome me into their homes for the night. It's fun, I feel like a teenager again on a study night.

What to wear for my 30th?! YOU DECIDE!

HTML email (dzzfashion.blogspot.com)
When it comes to getting dressed for a big night out, I'm usually standing in front of my wardrobe saying the phrase we all know too well, "I've NOTHING to wear!" With my 30th birthday bash tonight I made sure to buy a few dresses over the past few months to make sure I avoid empty wardrobe syndrome. Little did I know that I would be faced with a new dilemma.... WHICH ONE WILL I WEAR?! So - in true blogger fashion, I've decided to leave it up to you guys to choose - just as long as you pick my favourite one right?!
I think Bane likes this one
Option 1. The floral pencil
This body con pencil dress is from Want That Trend. Good points - for a body con it's actually quite flattering, it has a cap sleeve which I always like and a bit of floral is perfect for summer. Bad points- cheap material. *Note: This dress is the boyfriend's favourite!
Nice, but is it too Afternoon Tea?
Option 2. The Navy Chanel
This skater is also from Want That Trend. (I must've been feeling flush that day!) Good points - it's quite "me" it's a classic style and kicks out at the waist which is typical Kate. Bad points - is it a bit afternoon tea? (Yes, it's possible I'm taking this too seriously.)
Bit sensible?
Option 3. The Sensible Polka Tulip
I've pretty much ruled this one out, but I'm letting y ou see i t anyway! From Mylene Klass @ Littlewoods, this tulip dress is classy and sensible, but sure when have I ever been either of those!
Could be nice with a red lippy?
Option 4. The Bardot
Another skater, this time from Coast Good points - I love a good sleeve and a good stripe. It's also really good quality material which gives it the edge over option 1... bad points - maybe just not as dressy as the others?

So there you have i t, optio ns 1 - 4. Tweet, Facebook or comment below with your favourite. The party is tonight so get deciding.... or else I'll end up wearing my current get up - jog pants and a t shirt....

OOTD: Love, Keep

HTML email (dzzfashion.blogspot.com)

In my last post I talked about how much I was into the Bardot/off the shoulder tops, and I found myself, yet again, wearing one out today. When you like something, you just like it, ya know? I’ll take a cue from my shopping bag: If you love it, keep it. I wore this to meet up with a friend for dinner and a little shopping, and she snapped a couple pics outside of the mall.

theplussideofmesummeroutfit2

This top is one of three Bardot tops that I ordered from ASOS, and the only one that I ended up keeping. I love the cuffs and how they make the top more dressy. The fabric is flowy and light, but it isn’t very breathable, so I’m reserving this one for cooler days or nights out.

My earrings are from a local store called The Jewel Box. They specialize in simple jewelry, monogrammed items (southerners love their monogrammed things), and Pandora bracelets, and their prices are always great. I think these earrings were under $8.

theplussideofmesummeroutfit1Flowy top from ASOS, Dark Rinse* jeans from Torrid, Sandals from Nine West Outlet (similar), and earrings from The Jewel Box.

*My last post featured Torrid’s “Dark Wash” jeggings, and these are the “Dark Rinse”. They have very similar names, but this style is darker and does not have any shading/color differences in the style.

For those wondering about the Loft bag, I picked up two metal headbands and a springy/summery scarf, all for under $15. Love a good bargain find :).

What are some of your love, keep styles?

Firmoo

HTML email (dzzfashion.blogspot.com)

Yep, I am a prescription eyeglass wearer and have been for the last twenty years.  I wear my glasses when driving (at night) and watching TV which means its rare that you will ever come across pictures of me wearing them. A few months ago, Firmoo an online optical store that specializes in prescription glasses, asked if I would be willing to review their products and website. I found their request ironic considering the only type of glasses I wear on the blog is sunnies. Nevertheless, I was super excited to try their product and skeptical at the same time because I have never ordered prescription lenses via an online optical company.

When Firmoo initially contacted me, my prescription was over two years old. I didn't want new glasses with an old prescription so when I was able to obtain my new prescription (five months later) I contacted Firmoo again.  Tina, a Firmoo representative, emailed a promotional code for free prescription lenses within 24 hours. My eyeglass bundle would include a pair of single vision lenses, with anti-radiation & UV coating.

The ordering process was rather simple.  To start, I creat ed an account which Firmoo requires before placing your order.  Next, eye measurements were needed and Firmoo walks you through the process.   I entered my prescription information, selected a pair of glasses and pressed submit. A Firmoo representative contacted me within a few hours with some questions regarding my prescription, within two days my glasses were on their way.

My glasses arrived approximately 16 days later (from China).  I opened the packaged and was a tad disappointed. I ordered burgundy frames yet they were so dark, they looked  black. This was my only negative experience with the co mpany, b ut I chalked it up to color variations on different PCs (giving it the benefit of the doubt).

All things considered, Firmoo has definitely changed my mind about ordering from an online optical company.  The glasses fit perfectly and their customer service was impeccable!  My overall rating is a B! If you have never tried an online optical company, I would recommend you give Firmoo a try.  Average price for single lenses prescription glasses is $39.99 and currently the company is offering a 15% discount to new customers. My glasses are Firmoo's #F1013 and can be viewed here.

By the way, how do you like my new specs? ;)

xx
Stay Fab, Lovelies!
Delilah

This is a sponsored post.  I received my glasses free yet the opinions expressed are solely my own.

A Jumpsuit, A Moto Jacket, And A Fashion Link Up

I am showing a simple OOTD and linking up wi th the l ovely ladies above. I apologize for the short post, but the weather has been rainy for about a month straight and of late, a bit nippy as well. During times like this (cold, foggy, and rainy) my ideal situation is to be confined to my bed, snuggled up in a huge comforter, nibbling on some snacks, and watching a marathon of SNAPPED.

I know my outfit of the day seems more fitting for September instead of May, but after living in Denver for the last couple of years, I have learned to dress for the weather and not the season.  This look was all about comfort, blending a slouchy jumpsuit with a moto jacket and a pair of super high but extremely comfortable platform wedges.  I consider both pieces, a jumpsuit and a moto jacket, to be my wardrobe staples.  I own three black jumpsuits and each of them is distinctive styles and fit slightly different. This one pinches in the waist and the wider trouser legs balance out my inverted triangle body shape. The moto jacket can be considered my 'buy less choose well'  item for April. After viewing it for months and trying to decide if I needed another motorcycle jacket, I pounced on it when Ashley Stewart marked it down last month. The metallic panels on the front was the selling point for me because it sets it aside from just another moto jacket, don't you think?

Until next time, Stay Fab!

Current Beauty Essentials & A Few More Things

(dzzfashion.blogspot.com)
The product junkie in me is back at it again sharing some of my spring essentials.
Not a beauty expert, but these products are certainly doing the trick for me.

1| Nars Illuminator in Super Orgasm | I mix it with moisturizer to give me a sun-kissed glow or use as a highlighter on my cheeks and nose.

2| Caviar Crème by Alterna | The best leave-in I have ever tried. It pops natural curls leaving them bouncy and soft but also works great as a heat primer. The end result is hair feeling like silk!

3| Fresh Laundry by Clean | A crisp, light, and airy fragrance that smells just like fresh washed laundry without the harsh smell of a heavy detergent.  With names like Skin, Fresh Cotton, Air, Shower Fresh, and Clean, this brand has made me want to collect all of their clean smelling fragrances.

4| Melted Coral by Two Faced | Highly pigmented long wearing lip gloss. I love almost every shade by this brand but melted coral  is definitely one of my favorite shades for spring.

5| NYX Micro Brow Pencil| I recently discovered that this product is the perfect dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Wiz yet cost half the price!

< div class="MsoNormal">6| OPI Alpine Snow | The holy grail of white nail polish. It’s a matte color that is extremely white, bold, and works great alone or for French manicures.

zeroUV| Super chic shades, need I say more?

Do I have any of your favorites on my list or did you discover some new goodies?

Stay Fab!

Vacation Ready In A Romper & Some Wedges

HTML email (dzzfashion.blogspot.com)

< /div>
Romper/Charlotte Russe+ | Sunnies / Zero UV | Cross Body BCBG/ DSW | Wedges Madden Girl/ DSW
< div clas s="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My vacation is next month and it can not come quick enough.  I am already dreaming about a full week of pure relaxation. In preparation for our getaway, my daughter and I went shopping a couple of weeks ago and she insisted I try this tropical print romper. It’s an unusual print for my taste and too much leg for a middle age mama like myself (my initial sentiments) yet, I loved it.  So much so that I purchased two more, LOL!!

Like I menti oned, th is was to be saved for vacation, but sometimes I lack patience and want to wear new pieces right away. This weekend, we were out and about enjoying the wonderful summer weather and all the activities the weather brings. My romper was perfect for keeping me cool, yet chic. I paired it with a fringed cross-body (loving all things fringe) and some metallic Madden Girl wedged sandals, but it could have easily been worn with a pair of flat sandals or sneakers. Like jumpsuits, rompers are one piece wonders because it's invigorating to wear shorts and a shirt without having to figure out what shirt to pair with the shorts and so forth.

So glad my daughter suggested I give this trend a try. I am in love with the ease of grab and go pieces (especially when it's hot) and rompers barely take up any room in a sui tcase! & nbsp;

Have your purchased anything that pushed you out of your comfort zone lately?

Until next time, Stay Fab!
