Sing songs and selfies - a week among the roses!

For anyone not familiar with the Rose of Tralee I will try to sum it up in one sentence... a festival and television programme celebrating women with Irish heritage, one woman is crowed the winner and named the "Rose of Tralee". Got it? thought not! (Explained in full here.) I work on the TV side of things and as a result I got to spend a week with all thirty two roses on the road to Tralee! Plenty of tour bus sing songs and even more shameless selfies here's a taste of what we got up to....

Megan the Wicklow Rose gets her exam results. The whole gang were in their trackies and still looked fab. Proof that colourful sportswear is king. 

I was more of a by-stander so didn't have to partake in the activities really, which is just as well - me on a paddle board? Disaster.

Roisin Ni Mhathuna, the Germany Rose told me that this dress cost under €5 in Berlin! Bargain. 

Caitriona aka Darwin is the SPIT of Perri from Little Mix here. How does anyone look this classy shearing a sheep?

It was a week of many selfies - here is just one of a hundred of them . New Yo rk, Queensland, New Zealand, Perth, Philly and a sneaky Scotland in there.

Newbridge sorted me out with some head bling for the rose ball. (Is head bling a word?)

Now that its all over, a huge congratulations to Elysha Brennan the newly crowned Rose of Tralee! What an amazing week, countdown begins to next year....

Denim Truth or Dare

As adventurous as I am with fashion when it comes to denim, I can be very stuck in my ways. I could say it's simply because I know what I like but I t hink it also has a bit to do with my comfort zone. This might sound a bit crazy but I'm much more comfortable with really fashion forward and trendy denim than I am with the classics.

The skinny jean came into our lives and I was almost automatically in an exclusive relationship. Enter the boyfriend jean popped up and boom, love at first sight. Then the high waisted mom jean, now flared. I'm so in! But, show me a classic dark denim style and I'm all, no thanks. 

When Target dared me to take a few pairs of jeans for a test run, my "norm" and something outside of my comfort zone. I decided that that a pair of white (cream really…) jeans would fit perfectly into what I usually gravitate toward and a classic pair would be somet hing I'd need a dare to try.

My Denim Truth!

I chose similar shapes â€" slim fit skinnies but how could I make them both work for me? All white is all me and so the was a natural fit. I love the stretchy light weight denim. A flowy peasant top is so easy and summery. For the classic dark denim I decided to lean into the classic vibe even more with a stripped button down but what made it me is that both jeans are rolled into my favorite cropped length and the stripped shirt is oversized and relaxed.

My dare for myself might be a bit in reverse since I like living on the edge a bit but I dare you guys to try on a pair of jeans that you wouldn't normally try â€" which kind will you dare to wear?
